Specs sheet for LG's BD300 Blu-ray / Netflix player slips out
The anticipation is palpable, is it not? For those overly eager to learn more about LG's BD300 -- you know, that BD-Live-enabled Blu-ray player that can also stream Netflix content -- have we something for you. The forthcoming unit's specifications sheet has slipped out a touch early, giving us a few more snippets of information to digest before spending / not spending $350 on this thing in just a few days. Aside from the obvious 1080p BD playback, BD-Live / BonusView support, 7.1-channel audio output and unlimited access to Watch Now material, the deck also includes 1080p DVD upscaling, LG's SimpLink (HDMI-CEC) technology, a USB 2.0 port and a rather plain looking remote. Check out the linked PDF for more -- unless you're cool with being patient. Which you aren't.

have they ever shown what the client will look like? just wondering if its going to be the same one as the roku box (while its nice its a bit dated looking since we have seen the 360 interface). i am hoping we see an updated interface on this box since it should have a pretty powerful cpu in there.

Nup, no DTS-HD MA or even HR decoding, therefore not interested.
I'd rather the Panny 35 for 50 bucks cheaper.

Fifth item under Audio Format is:
DTS-HD MA
Sixth item under Audio Features is:
LPCM Conversion (DTS HD, Dolby TrueHD)
Looks like it decodes DTS-HD MA to me.

aaron - cnet did a hands-on review with the bd-300, and apparently the UI is nearly identical to the Roku - here's the article: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10004471-1.html
This thing is going to be pretty killer, but it's still hard to justify not going the PS3 blu-ray player route. Sony has a deal now where you can get the PS3 for $249 if you open a Sony Card (credit card account). http://www.techdealdigger.com/deals/sony-playstation-3-249-at-sony/4428
I'm torn.

What is DTS advanced Digital Output? Where is Master audio and high resolution?

The big deal killer for this is no Wi-Fi. I'd rather us a Roku and/or PS3 rather than get this and setup a separate Wi-Fi bridge.
