TWC officially on a roll, adds 5 more in Buffalo, NY
What can we say? When you're hot, you're hot. After adding ten new high-definition channels over the past week, Time Warner Cable has decided to dish out five more to the fine citizens of Buffalo, New York. As the rest of TWC nation grows increasingly envious, Buffalo residents can now enjoy Food HD (716), ESPNews HD (728), MSG HD (730) Outdoor Channel 2 HD (733) and Travel Channel HD (735). Alrighty, it's about time to start spreadin' the love, don'tcha think? [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family][Thanks, Tim]

Buffalo NY is a former Adelphia Cable area that was taken over by TWC. The "new" HD channels are all existing on the other TWC Divisions in NY.

This is a direct result of Verizon doing a massive roll-out of FiOS in the Buffalo/Niagara area over the past few weeks. If Verizon hadn't, Time Warner Cable would've continued to add an HD channel every few months like they have been since they took over for Adelphia.
The first poster is correct. As a result, Buffalo/Niagara is still very much behind in the amount of HD channels offered throughout the rest of New York State by TWC.

As AlbanyHDTV said, we've had these channels for awhile. But they better keep expanding, I'm an inch away from going to DirectTV for VH1 HD and NFL Network.
I have to admit though, TWC has done an excellent job periodically rolling out new features and channels.

I agree that they have done a good job rolling out features here in buffalo, but they need to keep adding these features to keep their customers. Fios is available here now, and if it weren't for the apartment complex that I live in (I am locked in to twc), I would have switched a while ago.
Though if they keep it up, they will be right up there with directtv, dish, and fios. The only two other he channels that I really want that they don't have are sny hd and fx hd. If they add those I will be all set.
One other thing that I don't understand is that durin the olymipis they temporarily added five channels for the coverage. Why don't tvy just keep them? They obviously have the capability to provide them, so why not keep them up?
