Star Wars: The Clone Wars gets box art, November 11th release date
Let's face it -- whenever a new Star Wars flick comes out, it's a massive deal. Granted, The Clone Wars didn't make nearly as big of a splash as any of the other non-animated versions, but true fanatics will likely be grappling for this one, regardless. We've just learned that said title will be making its Blu-ray debut day-and-date with the DVD release, and as expected, it'll be presented in 1080p with a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Also of note, "The Hologram Memory Challenge" and a "creative conversation" with those instrumental in making the film will appear as BD exclusive bonus features, and a Digital Copy will be included for those who care. Look for this one to crowd shelves on November 11th for $34.99 (MSRP).

How about the first 3 Star Wars movies (you know ... the good ones).
Where are the Blu-Ray versions of those?
unicode787plus @ Sep 27th 2008 2:02AM
The first three movies? Or do you mean the first SIX movies (Episodes I to VI)?
DEEZNUTZ @ Sep 27th 2008 9:08AM
The ONLY good one was Empire Strikes Back. That's it.

true fanatics will likely be grappling for this one? I'm a true fan and I take offense to that comment true fans (eg not fake fans) would know that all the prequels and the new "movie" are not worth buying

I'd say I'm a true fan, but I'd have to disagree about the prequels. Sure, they don't nearly compare to the originals, but I wouldn't say they are horrible enough not to buy. They complete the saga and are good films, especially Revenge of the Sith.
I agree that this Clone Wars release is not worth buying, but what most people do not realize is that this is not a true film whatsoever. It was never originally intended to be a film. It is really only the first few episodes of a new Cartoon Network TV series coming out next month. Viewed as that instead of as a true star wars film it is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

Meh!
Of all the Star Wars films, this one rates up there with Christmas Ewok Special, which unfortunately, I'd much rather watch than this piece of drebble.

I'd rather they released the original clone wars on blu-ray. This abomination didn't need to be made.

"other non-animated versions". Doesn't that imply that this is also a non-animated version?

I'll wait another 11 months when they release this with "never before seen extra footage"... or the special remastereder version included with the season 1 disk.
