This is great. So my guess is these players will be found retail for at least $250, maybe less. Get the marketing ramped up, and BD may have a fighting chance this holiday season. Studios will still need to lower their prices though. I know about shopping online and getting good deals, but I do agree with many that BB and CC is where many folks still shops and browse. And movies are one of the biggest impulse buys, so the price has to be attractive for those browsers to want to pick up a BD when they are in the store. For this season, magic number should be no greater than $20 for new releases, and lowering catalog titles to $15. Pair that up with all the sales on flatscreens and package deals with BD players, this season could see BD take off in a big way.
BTW: $700 billion would buy a lot of BD movies... give the bailout to the people!!!
