Verizon FiOS adds TBS HD in time for the MLB playoffs
Although just about every FiOS TV market was about to add TBS HD within the next month, if you're a baseball fan it's likely it was scheduled to be added a little too late. Every self respecting MLB fan knows that the playoffs start next week, and with 20 out of the first 20 games in HD on TBS HD, it is a must have for baseball fans. We have to say that when it comes to sports Verizon always seems to find a way to deliver the HD in time. First it was CNBC HD and USA HD in time for the Olympics, and then it was ESPNU HD in time for the kick off of the College Football season -- one of the only providers to add it on launch day too -- and now this. So if you're in one of those FiOS TV markets that's still waiting on the HD expansion to come your way, go check out channel 849 to make sure you're ready to follow the playoffs in HD -- or maybe you just want to watch Seinfeld reruns in HD.

Wow, that's great - but WHERE IS MY FX HD!!!!!!!!! Seriously WTF! Over 100 HD channels now and still no FX!.
Money Mike @ Sep 23rd 2008 7:56PM
You mean to tell me that your area got the new channels, but you still don't have FX HD? I have it on channel 553 and thought everyone else who got the update did also.
Money Mike @ Sep 23rd 2008 7:52PM
For about a quarter of a second, I actually got excited until I saw that it was TBS. Here in North Jersey, we had this channel added a while ago, but I thought maybe it was something else. I just love to get any new channels.

Money Mike: It seems that not every area is getting all the same channels at the same time, but if you have FX in HD that means eventually Philadelphia will have it. Rescue Me starts in January - even if It comes in only 1 day before the show starts that's all I care about.
Money Mike @ Sep 25th 2008 1:23PM
Actually, I heard Rescue Me wasn't coming back until April.

Why is Verizon so slow getting these HD channels in the lineup?? Its not like there is a bandwidth problem! I mean their just now catching up with content thats been available from friggin' space using a friggin' "Laser"! I mean the dish companies. Dr. Evil interrupted this post, my apologies.

Still no TBS HD in Southern California on FiOS.. We've got two teams going to the playoffs, Texas doesn't have any. So why do they get to watch the playoffs in HD and we don't? *kicks Verizon*
kermit24 @ Sep 30th 2008 12:14PM
I agree Brad. This is complete garbage. Southern CA deserves much better. Come on Verizon, 1 day left to add it!
Has anyone confirmed that Southern CA won't get it in time for sure?
rob @ Sep 30th 2008 9:59PM
socal will not be getting tbs hd in time for the playoffs. Ive called to confirm. It really makes no sense what-so-ever. If you're an angel or dodger fan forget about it! Verizon cant add 1 channel , wow it must be pretty damn hard to add one measley channel. Also they said they were gonna add a grip of new HD channels the 9th its postponed to the 15-16th. so cant even watch the ALCS in hd haha too funny. Go dodgers!

I'm new to HD. Did anyone else have terrible picture to sound delays in Red Sox/Angels game last night? Cablevision said it might be the network. Thanks.

So we have a whole bunch of new HD channels in MA one of which is FX HD! I was psyched cause I actually enjoy the crappy movies on FX. After one week of it, however, all of a sudden I'm not 'subscribed' to FX HD! wtf?!?!?! Verizon giveth and Verizon taketh away... knobs.
