I assume Pioneer is doing this to capitalize on the fact that LCDs are selling like hotcakes compared to Plasma (it's sad I know). But I still don't understand why LCD is winning. I can't think of a single situation which would prompt me to buy an LCD over a Plasma. They're essentially the same price now. I mean a 50" 1080p Panasonic Plasma is like $1500 these days, that's a ridiculously amazing price. I could see if LCD were cheaper, but they're not anymore. It's a strange world we live in where inferior products snuff out superior ones even when they're within the same price range.
