Blu-ray's gonna take off. Vrooom! Whoooooooooooooooosh! That's it taking off right there baby! It's not too little, too late, for too much, at all!

squiggleslash

Comments on DisplaySearch forecasts skyrocketing sales of standalone Blu-ray players

as long as we are hurting fanboy feelings might want to give this a read as well

http://www.betanews.com/article/Its_the_price_point_stupid_Xbox_360_top_seller_in_Japan/1221669155

wreckedchevy

Comments on DisplaySearch forecasts skyrocketing sales of standalone Blu-ray players

Blu-ray will be around for awhile, as for downloads this seems to be a reoccurring argument enough of it already. We all know that one day that will be the way to do things but not while ISP’s are limiting your bandwidth. And don’t forget all the DRM that they want in downloads to keep people from pirating or sharing like wanting to watch it at a friend’s place without purchasing it again. I see physical media as the standard for at least ten more years, and even after downloads overtake physical media it will still be many more years before physical media is gone, just look at CD’s everyone said that they were worthless once everyone started to download MP3’s, well CD’s are still here even with sales being down.

Inspire

Comments on DisplaySearch forecasts skyrocketing sales of standalone Blu-ray players

In fact, you're sounding quite a lot like Truth Teller/Nfinity there.

benny boy

Comments on DisplaySearch forecasts skyrocketing sales of standalone Blu-ray players

I love Blu-Ray but can't see paying the premium that Sony and other Corps. want. The Discs are expensive too. Hey things are tight what can I say. But until the price drops and the firmware is all updated for the latest features you can count me out.
