Blu-ray Discs popping up in Red Box rental kiosks
DVDPlay already announced its intentions to start stuffing Blu-ray Discs into its movie rental kiosks earlier this year, and we've been waiting ever since to hear a similar announcement from rival Red Box. Today, we're still waiting for said announcement, but we've received a report from the wonderfully named Aloha, Oregon that at least one Red Box movie rental kiosk has a Coming Soon flyer for Speed Racer on BD. When our tipster contacted Red Box concerning the discovery, the representative did affirm that if Blu-ray was shown, Blu-ray was on the way, though we aren't sure if they'll cost more than the $1 DVD rentals. Keep an eye out at your local kiosk and let us know if you see the same.

sweet! i like redbox, but i haven't used it since i got a ps3 because i'm trying to rent blu-ray whenever it's an option. i've just eyed those machines with disdain since i know they're not spitting out cheap, convenient flicks on blu-ray.

About time for this. For those of us who don't watch movies everyday, Redbox is the best option. I've been waiting for a whole for this.

Couldn't come soon enough. We love watching our Blu-ray movies AND renting from Redbox. Now it looks like we'll be able to do both!

Partnering with Redbox would be the smartest decision the BDA could ever make.

My local Vons has ... Redbox? Or the other one? Anyway, yes to Blu-ray in this baby. Even has it in big logo letters.
Problem is, THREE Blu-rays is all they got inside there. I laughed when I checked. So Blu-ray may be coming, but it's not coming en masse by any means.

Oddly enough, yesterday I just received an email from their customer support with a boilerplate statement that there are no plans to support blu-ray. I bug them about once a month and always get the same response, but it looks like things are turning around...

Pink Box? Not gonna' happen, that's called pissing on community standards and putting smut and obscenity on full view in front of everyone, children and (unwilling) adults alike. Not to mention the color would be a children magnet...that's a civil suit waiting to happen.
