Another week, another round of
FiOS TV announcements with
Washington in the mix. This past week, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo and Redmond voted to approve video franchises for the carrier, as did the villages of New Hempstead, Hempstead and Kenmore, New York. Finally, we're told that select residents of Ashland, Massachusetts can finally place their orders for FiOS TV after hearing that it was
coming in June. We'll see you next week -- here's to hoping your neck of the woods gets covered within the next seven days.

When is Verizon going to actually offer FIOS in Philadelphia (no not the suburban areas,I'm talking about the actual city itself)I'm getting tired of seeing their TV ads, when I know they're not offering it here. Not just FIOS TV service, but FIOS internet service isn't even offered here.Yet every day I see the damn ads.

Every time I see one of these I hope to see Connecticut added to the list and I'm disappointed every time.

For anyone reading this and who is curious as to when ORLANDO will get FiOS...the answer may be "NEVER"! Yup, its very true. Being the entertainment biz in Orlando, I have asked a leading Tampa Marketing Exec (from Verizon) and he was very clear that FiOS may "never" come to Orlando because of the infrastructure and Verizon is following their "legacy network" which does not include Orlando. They are planning to spend $23 Billion on 17 areas and that does not include Orange County, FL. The closest FiOS service is Lakeland, FL and the general Tampa area.
