Toshiba's Super Resolution-infused REGZA HDTVs get US prices / release dates
Toshiba got official with its new RV / XV REGZA families last week at IFA, but now Tosh is debuting 'em along with a smattering of other lines at CEDIA. The main news here is the US pricing and availability, but if you care to get neck-deep in marketing hoopla, we'd be happy to oblige. The company is trumpeting its Super Resolution Technology (now available in the REGZA RV535 and XV545), which purportedly uses a "proprietary processing system" to "improve image sharpness, brightness and color, [thereby] enhancing standard movies, TV shows, camcorder movies and most video games to near HD quality." For details on how much he AV500, RV525, AV502, RV535 and XV545 sets will cost here in America, head on past the break.[Image courtesy of TWICE]

This group is better off without the jerk. Let him stink up some other forum or blog assuming they'd have him.

Yea where has Nifinity gone?
Anyways... I want this in a DVD player as I already gaot a HDTV. A nice $100 DVD player sice BD is taking too long and the movie studios screwed consumers from affordable HD movies.

So you're going to buy a higher end HDTV with $300+ premium over cheaper models just to play standard definition content from a $100 player? What the hell?
800lb Droll @ Sep 4th 2008 6:10AM
LOL @ disgruntled HD-DVD nerds pining for their commanders! Boo Hoo! Where for art thou Nfinity and Truth Teller (aka. the bullshit twins!)
Pass out the tissues!
More smoke blowing out of Toshiba's ass to sucker people into buying into something other than "true" HD. Image SHARPNESS does NOT equal high DEFINITION. These "enhancements" have been in DVD players and televisions for years. This is just plain...old...up-CON-version rebranded, remarketed, and shipped out!
@Mike. Blu-ray IS affordable. You're just too damn cheap! $100? LMAO! Waiting for that premium Chinese BD player eh? Stubborn pride FTL!

I really don't understand where all this entitlement comes from. "We're entitled to get $15 HD movies and $100 HD player decks!" Sorry, but just like anything else you must pay a premium for latest tech for some period before it settles down. Blu-ray players have slowly dipped in prices and will continue. Look for great deals this holiday season...

But it doesn't have a Blu-ray logo on the front. BURN THEM AT THE STAKE!!!
