Sharp wasn't the only company showcasing
a new duo of Blu-ray players at
CEDIA, as Panasonic decided to whip up a couple as well just for kicks. The DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55 were
made official during IFA, but not until now has Panny shown them off to the wide-eyed public. As with the aforementioned Sharp duo, this pair is also hard to distinguish from one another at first glance. Unfortunately, neither are really worth sweating, but you can have a look below if you just refuse to believe that.

Any pricing details on these 2? or release dates?

Actually, the 55 is very much worth sweating. It decodes both HD audio formats, and it can pass them as LPCM over HDMI as well as analog multichannel out. What that means is that value conscious engadget readers can take advantage of the new formats without upgrading their a/v receiver. Thanks for being so informative. I'm glad that your lack of excitement over the EXPO makes it impossible for you to actually help the readers who come to you for advice.
BTW, I have been in the biz for almost a decade and I was at EXPO. There was alot of nice things to see.
Mr. Ford FTW!
