I would rather have kept my $100 HD DVD player and still gotten Universal and Paramont HD movies then wait for bd to lower its prices.
As I wait for infinity to post more info on the spurs engine.. i have to point out I have watched some HD movies from the cable company and am starting to think HD VOD might be the future.
Maybe Toshiba knows that eventually they'll need those patents for their own blu ray player so why sell them? It would be weird if its for CBHD because I thought the whole point of the format was not to be paying money on foreign patents.

Toshiba is just teasing the likes of Nfinity and TruthTeller with the remote possibility that HD DVD might comeback. :P
On the other hand there might still be some IP left in the patents they don't want to let go?
