Apparently
working out the details on the
Big Ten Network squabble was just the beginning, since Comcast and Fox Cable Networks recently worked out a deal to add FX HD and
SPEED HD. Already live in Chicago and in Pennsylvania,
Multichannel News says the rollout should pick up momentum in the fourth quarter, with both 720p channels sliding onto HD basic tiers, so there shouldn't be much question whether you'll have it or not.
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia,
Wrecked and
daily motorsports action in high definition will surely find a welcome place in many TV watching schedules.

Will the new season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia be broadcast in HD?

This would be great news if either channel was worth watching. How about moving all the premium channels to HD instead.

Anyone know when FX HD is coming to Dish Network? The Shield starts next week and I am screwed with the TurboHD package.
Mr. E @ Aug 26th 2008 7:36PM
Do we know if The Shield is going to be in HD this season? It's shot in such a raw "documentary" style, I figured it would stay SD, especially since this seems to be the final season. Kind of like The Wire.
In any case, I'd really like to get Speed HD. F1 is not full HD (yet), but at least I would get the 480p widescreen world feed, which is better than the current analog 480i that I'm getting.

On a semi-related note, it's really sad to see these companies like Time Warner pull off USA HD after the Olympics. I don't understand why. It's not like adding a single HD channel suddenly broke the other 400+ for the past few weeks...
scaught @ Aug 27th 2008 7:50AM
When Comcast started adding all of these HD channels way back when, I was nothing but excited. HOWEVER, all of the new HD
channels that have been adding to my local cable have been so blocky and compressed, it isn't even worth it (I am looking at you Sci Fi Channel HD).
Seriously, when an HD channel starts to resemble a YouTube video, you know something isn't right. Hey, at least I am only paying over $1000 a year to Comcast.

Time warner does not have a contract for USA HD yet, it was special during the Olympics. They will be adding it back to the line up once that is done.

Nip Tuck in HD will more pornographic than it already is..
Geef @ Aug 28th 2008 4:25PM
All these HD channels supposedly added to Comcast Chicago must be in the city proper only. As of yesterday, I have yet to see the new channels and live in a chicago suburb.

Rescue Me and Nip tuck in HD will be sweet!
