Wall-E Blu-ray details seep out, it's unsurprisingly getting the royal treatment

To say that Wall-E was a hit for Disney would be grossly understating it, and that's evidenced by the robust Blu-ray release that's being primed for a November 18th release. Unsurprisingly, Disney and Buena Vista Home Entertainment will be releasing this one just before the holiday shopping season really gets going, and we have a hunch it'll probably do some record smashing of its own. The 3-disc BD package will include Digital Copy, Burn-E with Boards (PiP), Cine-Explor with director Andrew Stanton, Axoim Arcade: retro suite of video games with a twist and a few Blu-ray exclusive features including at least one that taps into BD-Live. So, are you going to hand over $40.99 (MSRP) to hear that sweetheart utter "EEEEEVVVAAAAAA!" once more?

I'll take 1 of those 3 discs with an uncompressed audio format (studio's choice) and the movie for 13.66, please.

No way. I just want the movie. Movie studios need to cut the nonsense with throwing in garbage that only benefits them and the consumers. Oh, and all that "extra content and features" comes at the expense of the consumers. No thank you. $20 is all they'll get from me.

It's his opinion (Joseph), but it is no mystery why Wall-E is one of the best critically review film of the year (wait .. it -is- the best, 97% at Rottentomatoes), or that ist has a 8.7 user score on imdb.
Wall-E is downright fantastic on pretty much all levels, from the beauty of the pictures to the emotions it generates in the viewer.

Just for the visuals alone I would get Wall-E, but on top of that I also get a great film to boot :)

What's the point of shipping the digital copy on a DVD. You're going to need a code and activation to use it so why not stick it up online?

A hit? Not really, especially by Pixar's past performances. Wall-E is down to it's last legs here in North America and it's only made $216 million. That sounds great until you realize it cost $180 million to make and that doesn't count marketing costs (though tie-ins with others helps to defray that). Since theaters get at least a 40% cut of the box office, it's clear that it hasn't even paid the bills yet. And overseas it's only done $70 million so far. Disney won't lose money on it, but a film that doesn't make money until it hits DVD isn't exactly a hit.

unfortunately, this is the last Pixar movie i'll ever pay to see/own. i read the press release which outlined their projects for next several years and was sorely disappointed to not see anything concerning 'Incredibles 2'. however, i became incensed when i saw sequels for Toy Story and Cars listed.

"Cars?!", i nearly shouted. "F*&^ing Cars?!"

look, i can understand not wanting to do sequels for the sake of "moving forward, etc" but knowing that a sequel to a sub-par movie like Cars is getting made while their most critically acclaimed movie (not to mention #36 world-wide at the B.O.) is left twisting in the wind because it's not retard-easy for their marketing dept. to stuff down people's throats was the final straw for me.

The way I heard it, they're gonna do a Cars short. It's not going to be a full blown movie.

That said, I'm looking forwards to Toy Story 3.

Toy Story 1 & 2 are great but I don't know how 3 is going to work. Woody might have survived as a "family toy" but the others would be landfill by now.

You guys forgot to mention two disc version (for those that don't need the digital copy), disc three is just the digital copy. The 2 disc version is $5 cheaper. It’s also ironic that the picture you are using for this article shows the 2 disc version.
