I'll take a 4 tuner US 256-QAM version w/Tru-2-way and multi-stream cablecard slot now please.
I would like to take my cable box with the molasses slow and buggy Passport Echo software that doesn't allow me to use the eSATA port and throw it out the window.

I'll stick with Microsoft and Windows Media Extenders and PC Tuners, seems like another Sony gimmic that is following Microsoft innovation.

Back up Bill, other people make cool stuff to. When you limit yourself to a few brands, you're really just missing the out.

bheims what are you blithering about? The 360 has no TV tuner, let alone a twin tuner for digital with PVR functionality. Maybe you are happy to stream TV from a PC running somewhere else but I guarantee you are in a minority, especially as the TV (and consoles, set top boxes etc.) in most homes are situated by the aerial socket.

how likely is it to have these available for PS3 owners in the NTSC territory?

VERY slim. it uses Freeview which is a (correct me if im wrong) DVB-T broadcast. the US uses something else for our free-to-air digital television and that would mean a completely different device for over here. plus there arent nearly as many free-to-air channels in the US (where i live anyway).
i tell you what though, i am green with envy. my PS3 is begging for something like this.

What a nice interface. I'd love to take that over the buggy, slow early 90's look Comcast i-Guide! Of course then it needs to be Tru2Way / Cable Card and QAM ready. I can't even expand the Motorola's hard drive space, despite the numerous ports on the giant paperweight.

tru2way has a lot in common with the BD-J already used in blu ray so who knows. It obviously makes a lot of sense that if you have a powerful machine like a 360 or PS3 just sitting under the TV that it should be capable of other things besides play games.
