I don't understand how this system works. Are those powered speakers, or is it maybe one of those deals where there is an amp in the sub that drives the speakers?
The subwoofer is the same one Panasonic uses on its $300 HTIB (6.5" woofer with a 'customer facing' 10" passive radiator). All speakers are plugged into and powered by the receiver/BD unit.
For a HTIB, it sounds OK, but for $1000 USD, you could buy a $400 BD player or PS3, and have $600 left over for a receiver and speakers (for example, one of the Onkyo or Yamaha HTIB systems with a REAL receiver, powered sub, and decent speakers).
I'd be tempted to buy an HT system if I thought it was value for money. I just don't see any value here though. Like has been said you could buy a PS3 and separates and make a better system than this for the price.

Not a good value.

So this is an integrated player/amp? Are there speaker binding terminals on the back of this thing?
