We fully understand that we're a few days late in posting this up, but seriously, we figured
Netflix would fix whatever's been ailing its shipping system well before now. Days after we heard the first reports of users getting an atypical warning when viewing their queue alerting them of possible shipment delays, tips are still flowing in from frustrated users. The message asserts that the company is "still experiencing issues with its shipping systems," though it gives no estimated time for a fix to be implemented. Have you been bitten by the Netflix delay bug? Have your titles continued without so much as a hiccup? Let us know in comments below.

My next DVD to ship says that it's "Shipping Wednesday." I don't know if this is one of the errors connected to the bug, but it shouldn't take (and never has taken) a week for them to ship a DVD.
Michael @ Aug 15th 2008 7:00AM
That's exactly what my que says. A big message on the front page saying my account has been delayed since Tuesday and then in the que it says "Shipping Wednesday" on my next movie. It's now Friday.

I am a little upset by this.........
I have the 4 movie/month plan and have been movie-less since Monday........
havent even received a notification that my movies I sent in have been received........
I hope they prorate our plans or something
anon @ Aug 15th 2008 7:57AM
Did you read the message that's up there? It says if your shipment is delayed, they will credit your account in the next few days. Gotta read the whole thing...
The Aggie CEO @ Aug 15th 2008 11:20AM
yea I read it........
but saying and doing are two different things......
they told me the same thing before when ALL my movies where "Very long wait" for 9 days.....
hasnt happened yet....
FromtheRight @ Aug 15th 2008 7:16AM
No DVDs have been shipped to me, as of this morning, for something like three days. Unbelievable.
Spiza @ Aug 15th 2008 7:48AM
Delayed here as well. My message says accounts will be pro-rated, but switching to blockbuster if they raise rates doesn't look so bad now.
Jeffrey Morgan @ Aug 15th 2008 8:34AM
Mine have been delayed as well, also says "Shipping Wednesday," though as my movies were originally expacetd to ship last Wednesday (8/13) I am not sure if this refers to the day before yesterday, or next week. I just signed up last week so I am still in my two-week free trial, so I do not know how, if at all, I will be compensated.
PeteCE @ Aug 15th 2008 8:44AM
Delayed here (Indianapolis, IN) on one disc. Although, I can't say I'm that frustrated with Netflix. When they do have hiccups like this, they tend to go beyond what I think they need to do in order to rectify the situation. So as far as I'm concerned, their service record has been pretty much perfect.
With the Olympics, I haven't watched a couple of the discs I've got at home now anyway, and my son can still watch Word World on demand every morning.

Blockbuster B*tchs

I also have had the "Shipping Wednesday" message all week, but nothing is shipping. I can live a few days with nothing. There is more to life than just movies. I've been happy with Netflix since 2000 or so and have never had a problem. This is just a tiny blip.
The other two people in my office also have nothing shipping to them.
As others said, read the complete message on their site. Netflix will be crediting your account, and if you have a free trial it will be extended.

Makes sense, our internet went down this week, our phones went down on Wednesday, and the host for our website went down yesterday. I assumed this is how my week would end:(

Figures, our internet went down this week, our phones went down on Wednesday, and the host for our website went down yesterday. I assumed this is how my week would end:(
Mitchell @ Aug 15th 2008 9:33AM
Yea, i have been delayed all week in KC. Sent them in Mon and usally will get new ones on Weds. So far nothing. While this does suck its not too big of a deal. Atleast they are prorating out accts. Heck when the cable internet goes out I have never seen a credit willingly from the Big Bad Wolf TIme warner.

On the site, it still has my latest two DVDs marked as "shipping Wednesday", though I did receive them yesterday (Thursday).
David S @ Aug 15th 2008 10:12AM
I got the same message in Richmond, VA
mike @ Aug 15th 2008 10:12AM
Hmm, I got two movies from my queue yesterday. I live in NYC.
Joel @ Aug 15th 2008 10:14AM
I sent my first DVD in Saturday. I sent the other two on Monday, and I haven't heard a word about anything being shipped to me.
Lucas @ Aug 15th 2008 10:50AM
The last movies I sent back on Monday have not been received yet, and I have the shipping delay message. Also, the top two DVDs have been removed from my queue. One was a new release that had been sitting with a wait for the last two weeks. I don't know if I should re add them to my queue or wait for the shipping issue to clear up. Maybe they're just delayed but in progress.
Greg @ Aug 15th 2008 1:15PM
I have the same exact issue. I think I'm just going to wait for everything to be fixed to see if I should add my top 2 movies back to my queue.
jeffhrsn @ Aug 15th 2008 10:50AM
Two day delay here.
Mark @ Aug 15th 2008 12:11PM
I received a DVD yesterday, but I think it was shipped right before the "glitch". In fact, my Que page still shows "Shipping Wednesday". I'm still waiting for another to ship...
swilson23 @ Aug 15th 2008 1:59PM
I think this glitch may have been a good thing for me. Unless they have sensed I sent back one movie, they have upped my number of movies out. My next movie is in Processing and they have not received the movie I sent yesterday.
Also, they are now displaying the Watch Instantly promo front and center, just below the shipping notice on member home page. Good idea to try and get people to try this more with the current situation.
Jamie Bertram @ Aug 15th 2008 2:03PM
I got a movie today although my Queue tells me that the same movie is shipping today and has said so since Tuesday.
carg0 @ Aug 15th 2008 2:49PM
no problems here (NJ), just got mine this morning.
Fred @ Aug 15th 2008 2:52PM
oddly enough blockbuster.com is giving me problems with shipping. I sent back a movie a week ago....
YodaMac @ Aug 15th 2008 3:05PM
I never saw an annoying screen like that...
oh wait, that's cause I use an AppleTV. :)
Garst @ Aug 16th 2008 2:45PM
No, I have not been affected by this. That's because I don't like the subscription model. It just does not work for me because I'm lucky to have three movies come out that I want to see; two if I'm not unlucky. I also use renting movies as a form of exercise; I'll walk to the video store as long as it's not raining.
