I saw this demo in ABTA trade show in Sao Paulo last month, at telefonica digital booth.
It featured this phillips tv and they were showing some demo footage.
Despite some flaws and loosing it's 3d effect when you move out of a center range of view or come to close to the tv, it delivers a really good 3d effect on most images.
I asked an engineer about it, he said the technology could be applied to non 3d content, since it's based on contrast shifting on black/whites. This effect is noticeable on screen but overall it is very interesting.
