The "BD-Live-ready" BDP-S350 only
started shipping in the US a few weeks ago, so we suppose the Brits / Scots / Welsh / Northern Irish (did we just make that up?) can't grumble too loudly about Sony's latest release. Both the
BDP-S350 and BDP-S550 have finally been deemed official and ready for use in the United Kingdom, though specifications are precisely the same outside of that really funky power adapter. Curiously, there's no mention of release dates or prices, but it's almost guaranteed that you UKers will be forced to cough up way too many pounds as Sony takes advantage of the current exchange rate
situation fiasco.

IIRC, anyone in the British Isles is a "Brit", so it includes all of the UK, not just England as you seem to have implied.

Not true, the British Isles is a term sometimes, but not accurately, used to describe the islands specifically in that area of the west of continental europe (Ireland, Great Britain, Isle Of Man, etc). Great Britain is England, Wales and Scotland. The U.K. is Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Dish bequeathed me 17 new HD channels last night. This coupled with the 1080p VOD announcement means I may not buy a Blu-Ray at all. Owning a collection of discs seems too much like 1970's paper punch cards. Anyone else's parents own 750 VHS dinosaurs?
