Granted, both my Tivo Series 3's were gotten for a total of less than $1,000 out of pocket (and that is not a "price" after rebate I am "quoting"), but I'm perfectly happy with the money I spent. The bigger hard drive along makes these not quite virtually-identical. 32 hours HD versus 20 hours HD is about 60% bigger. DavidB you can only officially use the TiVo HD with the MyDVR Expander eSata. Which at $150 (cheapest I've seen) is a total rip for 500gb of storage. I always loved the display and looks way more then the TivoHD.
