Samsung unveils latest Series 6 Touch of Color LCD HDTVs
Samsung treated us to a few new HDTV lineups just last week, but apparently one of the fresh families managed to slip through the cracks. The all new Series 6 -- not to be confused with the widely available 650 Series -- consists of the 40-inch LN40A630, 46-inch LN46A630, and the 52-inch LN52A630. Each set provides a 1080p panel, 120Hz technology, the outfit's Touch of Color bezel design, three HDMI 1.3 ports and a USB socket for accessing digital photos and the like. Expect the trifecta to ship sometime next month for $1,699.99, $2,099.99, and $2,699.99, respectively.

I own Samsung's 52" A650, and absolutely love it. Still not as good as top end plasmas, it's still a significant step up from either an LCD or a mid-range plasma. My only complaint is "120Hz" technology, and unless they've totally redesigned it since the 650's, it's probably still garbage. First thing I did when I got my 650 was turn it off, since it makes all video look like DV, in the worst possible way.
I'm curious what else is new on these sets compared to their predecessors...

I think you are talking about AutoMotion Plus, not 120hz. AMP is the interpolated frame tech, but even if you turn it off the TV still refreshes as 120hz.

ceilingfanboy, what's the difference between samsung's automotion plus and 120hz again?

Still rocking a Sammy 46" 71 series from last year. Once calibrated LCD tech can be just as good as plasma in my opinion, just depends what you're really in to. If you want the best blacks, get a plasma, if you want rich bright colors, get an LCD. I do agree with the Auto Motion Plus complaint. I have mine permanently in "Game Mode" to keep 120Hz off and locked into 60Hz.

Samsung has quality displays but can't they do something about the case? When the hell is silver coming back. I'm really F-ing sick of all of the gloss black. Looks like shiat. The Sony XBR3 was probably the most stylish LCD of all time.

Is the 630 a 650 with a USB port?

This might help explain the difference between the 630 & 650; posted it in the engadget post comments. (don't mean to double post but only here to help)
