America finally claims 100 local HD news stations
When Raleigh, North Carolina's WRAL took its local news to high-definition some eight years back, we'd be willing to bet it never thought the rest of America would be so immensely slow in following suit. Sadly, it has indeed taken eight full years for a country known for its pioneering spirit in HD to see 100 local news stations make the high-def leap -- but we suppose it's still a milestone worth celebrating. That being said, if it takes another eight years to hit 200, we just might drown in our own tears.

Unfortunately, this "country known for its pioneering spirit" is also a country known for its red tape and bureaucracy. Besides, who watches the local news anymore? I've had my fill of "a 2yr old was beat to death last night" or "a homeless man was found frozen to death".
Have a nice day.

The list that was linked appears to be missing at least 2 DFW affiliates that have been in HD for over a year now. I bet it's been well over 100 for some time.

$85 Billion divided by 200 Million is $485 NOT $485 Thousand.
Jack @ Oct 4th 2008 2:31PM
I meant 425 not 485.
