Cox gets Phoenix ready for the Olympics with 4 new channels
Making sure Phoenix-area customers have access to those thousands of hours of Olympics coverage, Cox is launching USA HD, CNBC HD+, NBC Olympic Soccer Channel HD and Lifetime HD July 21. The first three should account for more than 750 hours of HD Olympics action, so check out the schedule and get your DVR ready.

Cox Cleveland will be adding MSNBC HD on August 1st and added USA HD on July 1st. They already had NBC HD and Universal HD.
They also say "Cox High Speed Internet customers can stream over 2000+ hours of 25 different sports streamed LIVE at nbcolympics.com, accessed via www.cox.net!"

Cox New England is adding Planet Green HD 8/6, NBC Olympic HD Basketball 8/8, and NBC Olympic HD Soccer 8/8.

They have also bumped up our internet recently, it went from a 7Mb d/l, 512kb u/l to a 12Mb d/l, 1Mb u/l. and our premium went from a 12Mb d/l, 1Mb u/l to a 20Mb d/l, 2Mb u/l. Now if Fios can come so they can raise that a little bit more. :D

Did I mention Powerboast that gives us extra bandwidth if available. :D

Don't be jealous... I just checked and didn't see the "Olympic Soccer Channel" maybe that one will come around closer to Olympic time. I checked and USAHD was playing the movie Red Dragon with two big black bars down each side NOT HD and LifeHD was playing a strectched episode of Will and Grace. CNBC sure enough is HD and looks very nice but I don't watch that channel. So as I said, don't be jealous.

USA has some great shows that I finally get to watch in HD. Awesome!
Lifetime is something I'll never watch.
CNBCHD is something I'll never watch.
Except for the Olympics of course.
I wonder if Cox is still going to be adding more channels by the end of the year, as they promised. Their promise is no longer on their website for Arizona.
I hope that after Arizona gets the VOD service that Cox will be spending more time on their HD channels.
The only other HD channel that I want right now is FX, only for Nip/Tuck and The Riches, and SCI-Fi HD - only for BSG which is not on right now anyways.
CNN HD and/or MSNHD would be nice.

I really want FXHD, BravoHD, SciFiHD, and AMCHD (for Mad Men)

News flash for all you Cox worshippers that posted above me. They are ruining the olympics. Of the three plus hours of the opening ceremonies only a FRACTION of it was broadcast in full HD. I'm told that the rest was amazing. Also experienced during this time was the following: complete loss of audio, extreme pixelation and dvd-like skipping (even while NOT broadcasting in HD)(thats right, barely even digital). Needless to say I find this much less than satisfactory. I would highly advise that ALL COX CUSToMERS CALL THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE as soon as possible. I was able to get a reduction in my bill after arguing for only ten minutes.
Plus Cox always fucks up my bill. so stick it to them and goto http://newteevee.com/2008/08/05/pirate-olympics-5-alternative-ways-to-watch-the-olympic-games-online/
and www.ovguide.com and rid yourselves of the devil cox
