CBCs coverage is excellent, if an event is on, you'll get to see the standings.  I often found the American coverage would only show American athletes competing and sometimes not stick with an event if no nationals were placing.]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[quadraphonic]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Jul 21st 2008 12:17AM</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Comments on CBC plans 282 hours of HD Olympic coverage]]></title><link>http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/07/19/cbc-plans-282-hours-of-hd-olympic-coverage/</link><guid isPermaLink="true">http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/07/19/cbc-plans-282-hours-of-hd-olympic-coverage/</guid><description><![CDATA[After listening to Kyle Shewfelt's commentary during the gymnastic events on Monday,I realized how wonderful his insights were and how they helped to bring the real meaning of the Olympics home to the viewer.<br>Other commentators should be asked to view his performance in the commentator's booth in order to grasp the depth and meaning which he was able to convey.  <br>Please, could we have more of his ilk rather that the screeching blow- by- blow accounts or endless repetitions of cliches or comments such as 'you must  accelerate into the turn and accelerate out' in the swimming events.<br>Sometimes the mere moments of silence bring far more excitement and tension to the scene.  Yes, I do use the mute button but, I'm sure you could come up with a solutions to the 'verbal noise'.
