Local Edition launching HD newscasts in Northern Michigan
Northern Michigan's first HD newscasts are coming from a rather unusual source: Local Edition. Said channel is getting its ducks in a row in order to start airing local news in high-definition starting July 21st. From what we can glean, it'll only be viewable through Charter, with HD subscribers having to tune to channel 1 and flip through a few on-screen menu options. Nice job showing up the Big 4.

Does this look like the weekly news program from some High School's AV department to anyone else?

I think the station's budget would be better spent on a decent haircut for that guy.
I'd say it looks like his mom cuts his hair, but I have a rule about not insulting people's mothers, and in this case, that would be quite a huge insult to his mom.
Note to self: no matter how much your hair recedes, covering it with a mop will always look worse. Case in point: this guy.

Hmmm. I checked out this station on the internet. The "owner" is in fact a 19 year old kid, who it appears is probably a genius. He has been written up in a full article in TV Broadcast magazine. Also has run a business since he was a teen, filming and creating broadcast ads. He uses other reporters. Pretty wild for him to have sold his programming to a large cable company. In the on-line version the young reporters do a good job. He could use a haircut though. Any of you "critics" ever do anything worthwhile when you were 19??

Thanks William. A little more constructive than the childish banter on this board.

Is this the Channel 11 news broadcast from Alpena?
That station cracks me up... it's like amateur hour EVERY DAY!

Dan Davis. No. It's run on Cnn Healine News.
