Time Warner Cable slings a dozen HD channels to Southern California
While TWC is busy rolling out SDV in San Diego, the carrier is also gearing up to do some reshuffling and add a full dozen high-def channels in Southern California. Aside from a few SD slot changes (which are detailed in the read link for those who care), the real news comes with the arrival of HGTV HD (433), Food Network HD (434), CNN HD (432), History Channel HD (439), A&E HD (439), Golf / Versus HD (423), Discovery HD (418), TLC HD (437), Disney Channel HD (435), ABC Family HD (436), ESPNews HD (426) and National Geographic HD (440). According to the most recent programming alert, all of the HD stations "will be launched in all areas," but there's no telling how quickly each market will be hit once the rollouts begin on July 9th. Keep a close on that EPG, SoCal. [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family][Thanks, Tony]

Alex @ Jul 1st 2008 4:20PM
wow I will be shocked and awed if it they FINALLY get them out. I notice no SciFi STILL, which I hope they get before BSG gets back on. Doubtful.
Jonah Lee @ Jul 1st 2008 4:39PM
I want all these, but Sci-Fi and Travel top these for me, and damn if I didn't wish they would add these soon.

I'm not holding my breath.

What wasn't made clear was if these channels will be piped in via SDV. Any word on that? This announcement will mean nothing to me if the channels are SDV only. (TiVo Series 3 User)

The impression I got when I called Time Warner was that, in San Diego, new HD channels will get rolled out to SDV.
Tony @ Jul 1st 2008 8:31PM
I dont think they will be SDV as I checked my box and SDV is not active yet and its only 8 days before they deploy the channels. I am in the TWC Los Angeles area, well orange county

Still no USA HD or SciFi HD anywhere on Time Warner. Boooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, and I know I'm in the minority here, but no WWE 24/7. Boooooo!!!!!!!!!! My brother has it in MD, my parents have it in Florence, AL!!! I bet this all goes back to the WWE/WCW war...........

OC Phil @ Jul 6th 2008 3:09AM
I am coming into the Time Warner So Cal area in the OC. Does anyone know if they already carry FSN West and Prime Ticket in HD?
Nicholas @ Aug 7th 2008 1:49PM
I am in the Northern area of O.C. and I haven't seen FSN West or FSN PT in HD yet. I have been waiting for both of those and Versus but still nothing.
Brad @ Jul 19th 2008 6:58PM
Guys, I'm in San Diego, with TWC, and I've already had all of these channels for about 3 months. Don't understand what the "news" is...
Where the heck is SciFi HD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Tim @ Aug 24th 2008 2:10PM
Im still waiting for the rollout to hit West Hills. I got USA and CNBC HD in time for the Olympics though. Im going to give TW until the end of baseball season(I already paid for the package) and if doesnt improve im switching to Direct TV.
steve @ Aug 31st 2008 12:02AM
retarded....... they had usa and cnbc only for the olympics, then pulled them........ I was patient for over 2 years...... but I'm switching to DTV after my next paycheck....... absurd......
