Another week of expansions are in the books, and it looks like just two new locales got the good word this week from
Verizon. A meager 347 households in Poquoson, Virginia are one step closer to having access to FiOS TV (service will be turned on this summer), but Verizon did note that it will "make the service available to all households in Poquoson within three years." Further north, we see the town of Stow, Massachusetts approve a video license for the carrier, though it wasn't stated when residents there would be able to order and enjoy any of that fiber-based programming. We'll see you next week -- here's to hoping your neck of the woods gets covered within the next seven days.

I wish FiOS would come to North Carolina. TWC just isn't very good. DirecTV is good but I'd like another choice if possible.

OMFG!
Stow resident here. I've been waiting for Verizon FIOS (internet) for several years now. The weird thing is, part of our town has FIOS, and part doesn't. The weirder thing is that I'm on the end of town that's nearest to the other town's CO that's providing verizon service, but the FAR end of town (away from the CO) seems to be the part that has it!
Go figger! So, I can't really tell if this even helps me, because if I can't get fios internet now, I likely won't be able to get fios TV. I've been very happy with DirecTV (love my two, dual tuner, hacked DriecTivos), and right now, there's no reason to change... because... um... errr... I still. don't. have. HD (there, I said it! Sorry, but milk, gas, and mortgage have sapped my budget for a 60" Kuro). When I finally join the 21st century, though, I'll have to re-evaluate my provider.

You DON'T HAVE HD? Blasphemy! Treachery! Heresy! Crazy talk!
You can get an HDTV for $400 these days. WTF are you waiting for!?
But yeah, if the fiber lines haven't been strung to your street yet (and based on what you're saying, it seems they haven't,) then you won't be able to get FiOS of any sort (internet, tv or phone.)

I live in NJ...the home of Verizon, and only 10 blocks from the CO, and no FiOS yet :(
They installed it in all the 'better' areas already
