A1GP series races available in HD next season
There's always room for more racing in high definition, and A1 Grand Prix fans are the latest to be blessed, as the upcoming season be available in high definition (assuming your local broadcaster offers it). Since A1GP does a bit more country-hopping than NASCAR or Indy the logistics are more complicated, but we can apparently expect HD looks at the action courtesy of 60 cameras manned by a team of 130 production staff following the series around the world. also in store are new on-board camera positions and more telemetry info when the '08/'09 season kicks off September 21 from Mugello.

Too bad I no longer subscribe to DirecTV. I really enjoy A1GP.

And yet, F1 races are still limited to SD with the occasional upconvert to quasi-HD four times/year on Fox in the US.
With all of the money that Bernie makes off of the series, A1GP beats him to the HD punch. And no USGP either. Sad world we live in if you're an F1 fan.
But it's great development for the A1GP series.

Yeah, it's pretty pathetic that F1 still doesn't have HD. Bernie and Co. can pretend to be all about "cost savings", but the fact is that there is more money in F1 than just about any other spectator sport in the world. Bring the coverage up to snuff guys, widescreen 480i just doesn't cut it any more!
I wish I had Speed HD so I could watch A1GP in HD. BTW, I was able to see the Australian Grand prix at a friend's house with DirecTV, and Speed HD does show all of the F1 races in the same pseudo-HD that Fox has been showing.
