Historically, Topeka has been one of the last locales in
Kansas to get gifted with new HD channels. Nevertheless, quite a few folks in the area are celebrating today as 11 newcomers have joined the fold. From SciFi HD to USA HD to NFL Network HD, Cox has ratcheted Topeka's HD lineup to 36 total stations in addition to HD On Demand. We'll admit, this is a pretty impressive list, and we can only hope it bleeds out to other systems here shortly. Head on past the break for the full rundown of new nets.
[Thanks, Kevin and James]

Sweet, even us cable card user have access to these channels. I'm glad they did not restrict them because the plan on moving them over to SDV later this year.

I just reported these channels to TiVo so we will see how long it takes to get them in the guide data so I can set up my Battlestar, Monk and Psych season passes.

Eric, have they shown up for you yet? I'm in another nearby market but we just got some of those same channels. I reported them to TiVo a few days ago but they still don't have any guide data.

C'mon Cox, move those channels up to Omaha! Give us something for that alleged price hike in June!

Even though Cox isn't available here, It would be nice to see KC (31st DMA) catch up to Topeka (139th DMA) Seems like providers would want to spend more in areas where they have a larger subscriber base, but I guess not.

Now I'm waiting for The Weather Channel HD to come to Kansas.
