Verizon lassoes Kevin Garnett in to push FiOS
Merely months after Verizon managed to secure Michael Bay's talents to campaign for FiOS, the carrier has now snagged Celtics superstar Kevin Garnett to push its fiber-based services. The NBA big man is now starring in a 30-second spot for Verizon's FiOS, showing off just how much he adores the innovative Home Media DVR with multi-room recording playback capabilities (its words, not ours). First Frank Caliendo, then Mr. Bay, now KG -- who's next, Don King?

Look - it's Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder...

Maybe Verizon should stop spending tons of money on celebrities for their commercials and work on getting more HD channels down the stream.

We all love announcements, but I think we love actually being able to watch stuff in HD more. Sadly, we're a little short on the watching at the moment.
Less announcements, more HD.

I really like Kevin Garnett. I was sad to see the T-wolves let him go, but it may have turned out well for him, I just want to see him win a championship. The wolves seemed unwilling to get the team around him... that or they are just doomed (they always seem to get screwed in the lotto).

The T-Wolves are idiots. They have a stupid GM and have had horrible coaches forever. Flip was ok and was the only real coach to bring more wins than loses. KG was a loyal player and really deserves a better team than the Wolves could ever provide for him.

Perhaps ironic, since Comcast SportsNet New England (the local carrier for the Celtics, because apparently the Celtics aren't smart enough to get on NESN with everyone else) can't be assed to run their normal programming in HD.
Just this past week, a full HD channel listing for it showed up, but it still hasn't started actually working yet. Freaking Comcast, how I hate you.

In HD on FIOS. Thought I should clear that up since in my ranting I forgot to mention it.

This is ironic, but I believe that Kevin lives in my town (Metro West suburb of Boston), and our town DOES NOT have FIOS! (To my best knowledge this is because Verizon would like to use the poles that are own by our local town utility company, and in the surrounding towns in the area the poles are own by companies such as NSTAR and Verizon was able to negotiate the pole usage rights in bulk).
So I wonder how Kevin is able to enjoy the "Home Media DVR with multi-room recording playback capabilities" in his MA house?
I know that many people in my town would like to have the FIOS too!
