With the looming
Tuning Adapter practically stealing the limelight at
The Cable Show 2008, we can't help but wonder: how many of you are actually waiting in tense anticipation to snag one of these rascals? Is your CableCARD-equipped TiVo
not pulling in all of the HD channels that are being delivered via switched digital video? Are you holding off on buying a set-top-box until
tru2way DVRs hit the market? Let us know just how important this stuff is to you.

I'm waiting for my cable provider to offer PC cards that will allow me to record HDTV signal/digital TV without the need for a set top box and that will allow me to stream said content to my xbox 360.
I realise that it's all really wishful thinking at this point but my family and I really love using Windows Media Center for TV.

I've yet to buy an HDTV and certainly don't have much use for a set-top box. All of the news over the past four to six months of new technologies coming down the pipe (pending OLED TV wars, tru2way etc.) have safely convinced me to 'skip' this generation of LCD/LED HDTVs and CableCard tuners.

Yes! My S3 Tivo NEEDS Sci-Fi and USA in HD!

Cable? who needs cable? OTA, the best bang for the buck when you want to watch ALOT of HD.

It will really matter to me when the inevitable happens and Cox switches to switched digital video. Right now I don't have a problem, but it could be in the future. I don't think Cox will make this switch in my area until the tuner is readily available for purchase.

I personally dont have a need for a set top box at all, as I have the cheepest comcast cable I can get, which doesnt need another box on my desk

I will probably get some tuning adapters when they come out. But they sound like they may be just another hassle.

I'm not eager for the Tuning Adapter because Charter isn't using SDV in my area, so my TiVo works just fine without one.

I'm holding off for a tru2way HDTV with a built-in DVR.
I'm very happy with the HD channels and on-demand programming I get with TWC in my area, and I actually like the GUI for the program guide & DVR...very simple and easy to use...so if my next TV could retain all that but receive it all through a cable card instead of a set top box, I'd be sold on it.
