AT&T quietly enables 2HD / 2SD U-verse service in more cities
Since activating dual HD streams in St. Louis earlier this month, AT&T has seemingly enabled the functionality in a handful of other cities without even an official peep. According to user reports stemming from Atlanta / Alpharetta, Georgia and certain sections of Michigan, they too are enjoying the luxury of recording one high-def program while viewing another live. We fully expect the carrier to spread the 2HD / 2SD service to more of the country here soon, but until it decides to open its own mouth, we'd highly recommend keeping an eye on your box for a certain surprise.

I have a question. Can you record 2 HD streams or just record one watch another in their 2hd system? And also, can you record 2 and watch a prerecorded hd program?

You'll be able to watch one HD stream (and record it) as well as record another HD stream. Or you can watch two different HD streams on two different TVs. In addition to this, you'll also be able to watch/record 2 SD streams.

Theoretically, you can record 2 HD programs at the same time but can't watch a live HD program while recording the 2 HD streams.
As for your second question, you should be able to record 2 HD streams while watching a recorded HD program since the recorded program is running from the DVR hdd not from any of the streams.
Then again, I cannot confirm this since I don't have 2HD yet. I'm just theoretically speaking.

Still no 2HD here in Corona, CA (SoCal area). >=(

You might try contacting support. Some people have had success getting them to turn it on by calling in. I wasn't so lucky.
Also, here's a link to the U-verse Users forum regarding the 2HD/2SD rollout.

What does 2 HD streams into the house at the same time do to internet?
What does 2 HD streams into one TV do to SD streams into other tv's at the same time?
Obviously you can't do more than 2 HD streams so Uverse (although getting better) is still not as good as simple cable. Wake me when they offer unlimited HD streams into a household without any impact to internet speeds.
