SportsCenter changes up the formula starting August 11
The daily SportsCenter rotation marks time for many a sports junkie, but starting this fall, everything will be different. Timed for the start of the Beijing Olympics, SportsCenter is switching to a live edition from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. News vet Hannah Storm will host from 9 a.m. until noon each day, in an effort to balance with ESPN2's morning programming and ESPNews. Smaller tweaks include a continuous Bottom Line news ticker that scrolls headlines throughout the show and commercial breaks, and an ESPNews-style Rundown vertical listing of upcoming stories. Next spring ESPN takes the wrapper off its Sony-powered LA studio, debuting a 10 p.m. PT / 1 a.m. ET live SportsCenter broadcast skewed for the West Coast. Endless reruns of SportsCenter throughout the night and early morning have been a fixture for more than a decade, this adjustment strikes us on the level of political unrest, a weakening dollar and global climate change.

Cool, I like the changes ESPN is making. I love ESPNHD!

Great! Instead of getting to see the same SportsCenter as everyone else and getting to talk about the same things around the water cooler... it will all depend upon which segment you caught.
I don't think I like this as much. I mean, it will just turn into every other cable news network... a whole lot of blabbing and rambling on about the same things for hours and hours. I'd much rather SC stay the way is. Short, sweet, to the point, and replayed through the day for all to see rather than the hours of endless rambling that it is soon to become.

Well if it's anything like the other news channels (MSNBC, CNN and Fox News) you won't have to worry about missing anything as they repeat the same news and format every hour anyway, until there is more breaking news.

Really, it's about time. Not being able to get complete scores for even Central time zone games, not to mention Pacific, has rendered Sportscenter almst insignificant. If I have to spend the early morning digging around the internet fo rscores there's no reason to have an incomplete rerun/loop of Sporscenter playing in the background.

What does this have to do with HD?

its in hd genius

That still doesn't explain this post's relevance to HD in general. I don't see posts here about every HD show.
