Charter launching 5 new HD channels in Central Michigan
Charter already delivered TLC HD and Discovery HD to Western Michigan early last month, but now the carrier is gearing up to bring five newcomers to the central part of the state. According to a subscriber located in mid-Michigan, TBS HD, Discovery HD, TLC HD, CNN HD and Animal Planet HD are prepared to land on June 3rd (or so says a mailed flier), though there's no word on what slots they will fill or if any others will be following suit. Hey, with U-verse closing in, you've got to keep up appearances, right?[Thanks, Matt]

I'm the submitter, so I might as well clear some things up. Oxygen and G4 will be moved to channels 89 and 90, respectively. The PPV Preview channels (Ch. 15 and Ch. 800) will be removed. Oxygen and G4 still come with Expanded Basic service, but you need digital equipment to view them now. Also, I'm not sure if where I'm located is considered Central Michigan. I live in Bay City. I guess we are considered the 'thumb' area. :P
Here's the list:
TBS HD - 768
CNN HD - 769
TLC HD - 796
Discovery HD - 797
Animal Planet HD - 798

It still bothers me that Midland and Bay City have access to CBC (ch. 98),
while we here in Saginaw don't because 98 is used as an education channel.
Oh, that and regular cable customers (charter) don't have access to Fox Sports Plus anymore.

It could be worse guys... the apartment complex I'm in pipes DirecTV to us via cable jacks in the wall. Their channel lineup is horrible. Couldn't even get HD if I wanted to.
