Michael Bay isn't sitting at home reencoding Transformers.
In fact the most likely outcome is a straight 'port' of the HD DVD release (and all the Blu-ray fols can pretend that a 'reference' standard audio track would sound much better on their creative 5.1 set-ups if it was that wasteful & bloated uncompressed idiocy).
It's going to be funny hearing how the supposedly superior Blu-ray ends up (just like last time when Paramount encoded to suit each format) looking & sounding no different to the HD DVD release.
I've been enjoying many of the Paramount releases for months now.
Transformers? Well tbh it was a really cr@p film, some nice visual effects & some nice audio effects too but, be serious, it was about as instantly forgettable, childish & superficial as they come. Typical Hollywood fodder for the single adolescent male 'PS3 demographic'. All effects and no substance (typical Bay sh!te, in fact).
It doesn't age any better either, it'll not getting voted as an all-time classic anywhere that's for sure.
