Kind of pointless as a Blu-Ray player because the system is too loud, even when you're not playings games. The fans are not whisper silent, which is needed for anyone series is investing in movie playback.
Well, that puts the PS3 right out of the running because it's not silent either.
If MS does a die shrink of the cpu, gpu and memory, redesigns the power supply and throws a revamped heat pipe system into the enclosure it won't be nearly as loud as existing models. In fact it should be quieter than the Elite, as it only incorporates a smaller die cpu.
Well, you obviously haven't played the most recent versions. I had an original, which I still have and it's ridiculously loud and runs much hotter. The new chip models are much quieter and cooler.
