Um, as I recall, Microsoft's relationship with HD DVD was just a tiny bit more tangible than it currently is with Blu-Ray.
I don't think anyone will be able to predict how well a blu-ray 360 would be received, but at least there wouldn't be too much doubt about it being the dominate physical HD format.
It will not be an add on drive like the HD DVD debacle (MS didn't include it in the Elite because ??? ) It will be built into the August refresh of the console.
If (when) it happens, Sony will have yet another "win" in next gen consoles. The first was the HDMI licensing fee. Granted they won't be making as much off a 360 than MS, but they will be making something off each 360 sold.
