you're right sir, but some baluns have active DACs and convert to PCM, meaning the signal is actually not balanced. just a thought.

as far as that SONY/CONTROL4 setup, i would much rather spend the same money on a middle atlantic rack, crestron control system, and qsonix music server. the av distribution is easy enough using muxlab or gefen baluns.
