Hard to curb your enthusiasm, isn't it? For Time Warner Cable customers situated in New York / New Jersey, tomorrow's the
big day. Er, maybe
today is the big day. According to a Brooklyn resident who just so happened to see what his
EyeTV could capture via Clear QAM tonight, NY1 HD (along with a host of others) were spotted as being available. 'Course, nothing has been updated in the EPG just yet, but rest assured, the whole gang should be showing up very soon indeed. [

Hunter @ Apr 30th 2008 9:00AM
I live in Northern Brooklyn and I had all of the promised channels this morning. I also received a email stating that by years end TWC would have 100 HD channels and 250 OnDemand HD channels. Happy Days!
RobNYC @ Apr 30th 2008 9:33AM
Anyone in the downtown Brooklyn area seeing any of these?
riggs @ Apr 30th 2008 9:43AM
how is manhattan always last in HD? that makes no damn sense we're the ones who were locked to TW. thank god FiOS tv is coming maybe we'll be treated as actual fricking customers now.
Phillip Fry @ Apr 30th 2008 12:13PM
The fact that we are locked to TWC is exactly the reason we get everything last. In Brooklyn and Queens, more people can install a dish, so TWC has to compete there. Most manhattan buildings won't let you, so there is no competition. Even if Fios turns out to be the worst, most expensive cable TV around, I will switch the day it is offered just out of spite for TWC.

When I left for work around 10 this morning the EPG was completely updated but no picture or sound in any of the new channels yet.
I live in Carroll Gardens.
Vin P. @ Apr 30th 2008 9:25PM
You sometimes have to reboot the receiver to get video..I wasnt getting video on a couple of the new channels and a box reboot did the trick.
brengibble @ Apr 30th 2008 11:51AM
Forest Hills here, we got all the channels promised this morning.
riverside_guy @ Apr 30th 2008 12:23PM
Manhattan got 4 channels, Food, HG, Hallmark, & Animal. Food is another stretch-o-vision channel, most of the content on Hallmark is 4:3. So now Manhattan has 25 no pay HD channels, while most of the rest of the city gets 50. Oh, and those that get 50 can opt to pay 10% less, an opinion that is not available if you live in Manhattan.
sepirioth @ Apr 30th 2008 12:25PM
Still nada in the city...
Vin P. @ Apr 30th 2008 1:03PM
Yup, everything that was promised I see live this morning in Howard Beach, Queens. Fox News is tomorrow I think as well.
sepirioth @ Apr 30th 2008 2:08PM
I now have about 4 new channels in the city! yay! more HD goggles

Allen G. @ Apr 30th 2008 5:47PM

ilvspase @ Apr 30th 2008 10:36PM
does anyone know if the new hd channels are being broadcast in clear qam? I use an HDHomerun and the only new channel I found in a scan today is NY1. I'm in Far Rockaway, Queens 11691.
syl @ May 1st 2008 9:07AM
Astoria here. Got all the promissed channels. Lots of stretching and somewhat "animated" quality to NY1's signal. CNN's Newsroom looks hot, bubt only in when in HD.
Still lots of side-bars.
Happy to see CW11 News in HD (way ahead of Fox5).
Wake up MSNBC!
RobNYC @ May 1st 2008 9:22AM
When I got home last night all the channels were there. I was disappointed to find that a lot of them are not in true HD. Most were the crappy upfeeds that stretch the picture.
Sharif38 @ May 1st 2008 12:59PM

Ben @ May 1st 2008 7:11PM

Juan @ May 7th 2008 9:46PM
I want to know is when will t.w.c. get cartoon network HD, USA HD, sci fi hd
and IFC hd.
Vijay @ May 20th 2008 11:06AM
I'm in Astoria, and my TiVo HD has been losing both HD and non-HD channels left and right, but the cable box still gets them. All of the ones I've lost are "cable channels" (e.g., ESPN, TBS, Sci-Fi, etc).
Does that mean this rollout is the beginning of SDV? Help!
Vijay @ May 20th 2008 11:07AM
I should add that, weirdly, this issue only started about a week ago.
