Wow a million subscriber's, I wish they would get a clue and up upgrade there HD line-up. I have heard there is a major upgrade comming by the end of the year but come on already!

Wow, a million subscribers. I wish they would get a clue and upgrade their HD line up. I heard there is a major upgrade arriving by the end of the year, but come on already!

@Med1320: FiOS is the only service that doesn't heavily compress the HD signal by squeezing 3 HD channels into one QAM (instead of the usual 2). So yes, the picture quality is much better than anything you'd get with satellite or cable.

I'm with you there. I've been waiting and waiting for FIOS service. Hermosa Beach and Malibu have it, but the rest of the westside is dark.
I'm thinking those 2 towns must have some high level Verizon execs living in them. Those are some pretty random towns to roll out to first.

I echo your frustration. My neighbors, literally across the street, have had FIOS for over a year. My side of the street has been told that maybe sometime in '08, though I see no evidence of prep work necessary.
My side of the street is coming from a different office, which seems low priority. My neighborhood is above ground wiring btw.

Joel - > I know what you mean, I keep seeing articles of different companies adding things. But when it's Verizon Fios, their always adding more customer and never more HD Channels. I've been seriously thinking of switching over to DirectTV, satellite HD is the same quality as Fios (from what I've read) but they have lots more HD. Like Spike ,and USA for instance.
Come on FiOS, you claim to be the best with the most bandwidth, show us the HD already!!!!!!
Another month or two with no new HD channels and I'm moving to DirecTV.

Meanwhile AT&T continues to fumble and bumble its way through the marketplace after farting away billions of granted money with nearly nothing to show for it. They now look to offer an inferior solution for more money. But why shouldn't they, they are a protected regulated monopoly. We can't kick them out and get Verizon to give us better lines.
