I'm in the northern suburbs of Chicago where they are currently installing new boxes, the whole process is terrible. They add several new fiber boxes near all the telo boxes, they block the roads for days-weeks while they add the boxes and even when the system works, who would want it? Comcast is bad but after having ATT wireless for the last few years, they are the last group I want to switch to. Where is Verizon's service?
From what I read, Verizon's service if infinitely superior since they actually run fiber to the residence instead of just to the neighborhood. I am sure they have chokepoints in their network, but they sure are not as obvious as AT&T's. AT&T can't even supply two HD streams at the same time! The one quality poll I've seen about AT&T's HD quality is also terrible - 46% or so thought it was worse than with their last provider. Seeing how most people don't see most HD problems since they have small TVs, this large percentage of people seeing issues is awful.

Verizon Fios amd at&t u-verse are basically the same service. They used the same equipment to bring iptv.
