I honestly own 2 hd-dvd movies(both came with player) and 0 blu-ray. For the most part, I find that the $30.00 - $40.00 they are asking for a new movie is too much. I'd prefer to buy some older movies like Gladiator, The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, Batman Begins, National Treasure, Indiana Jones Trilogy, The Matrix Trilogy, Transformers and even some Disney Classics.

That said, for most catalog titles produced 10+ years ago, there's REALLY no point even releasing a Blu-ray. Other than to bilk consumers.

Just because its dead doesn't mean sales drop to 0 really fast. There's still plenty of value out there for HD-DVD player owners as there's nothing wrong with them picking up an HD version of a movie for less than the DVD version's price.
You also have to remember that HD-DVD owners will not typically be quick to jump on the Blu wagon, that and look at the new releases... their crap movies and who's going to buy this stuff on DVD, never mind Blu-Ray?
Blu will take off when big back catalog movies are released and when some decent new movies come out; the next PS3 price drop will also help. Till then, its slim pickings ..even for DVD.

So all that's left for you to complain about in any reasonable way is EngadgetHD's commentary...but if you don't like the writing, why would you even read it? Why visit EngadgetHD if you don't like it?

Finally, instead of saying it's all EngadgetHD BS, despite the fact that its really fairly straight forward and bereft of opinion, why don't you offer something to the conversation?
