I agree that these ads are annoying and prey on the less informed consumer by appearing to imply that FIOS requires a dish and that Verizon and TW's fiber usage is the same but in the commercial the actor playing the home owner says specifically "Just to get TV from you now, don't I need a satellite dish?".
"NOW" being the important word in the ad, I think, and why Verizon's suit holds little to no ground (again, my opinion). I say this because I live within metro Columbus, OH (a pretty decent area for telecommunications competition) and according to Verizon's website as of this afternoon FIOS service is still not available at my address which means the ONLY television service I could possibly get from Verizon is their Direct TV service which, as the ad says, does require a dish.
Just my $0.02 on the engadget interwebs, for what it's worth.
This ad is not being used in your market, it is being used in the markets were Verizon Fios goes head to head with TWC. So, it is a misleading ad ad on TWC's part.
I only see this ad whenever I'm watching Fox NY, I'm in DC.
