Don't feel bad, we're not saying you missed out on a Kuro/XEL-1/what-have-you giveaway, gadget mavens. One thing is for sure, though -- Oprah understands that HD is about more than just sports and nature. Since rolling out her "
OWN" network in conjunction with Discovery Health, the one-woman media empire has decided that she can't be outdone by the likes of
Big Bird and is bringing her namesake "Oprah Winfrey Show" to HD beginning this fall. We're not sure that the picture quality will make the content more appealing to us personally, but we won't be able to give it the "how good can it be, if it's not in HD?" brush-off anymore!

Nothing's scarier than Oprah on HD. No wait, maybe Dr Phil might be scarier. Anyway, it'd be interesting to see her show in HD. I hope is 16x9 too.

There are two HD broadcast standards: 720p and 1080i. Both are 16x9.

My mom has DirectHD in the living room with a 42inch LCD and a DirectSD in her room with a cheap LCD (27inch), so my guess is she'll want to upgrade to another HD reciever. Oprah in HD... joy...

The few times I've watched Oprah it looks like she already has soft focus lenses. Strange that she would want to go HD.

Hopefully Oprah won't be shown in HD without her makeup.
Gawd, have you seen what she looks like without makeup? It's horrific!
