The 6th Day's BD-Live features get shown off on PS3
Merely hours after The 6th Day hit retail floors, Gaming Bits was able to secure a copy, pop it in a PlayStation 3 and test out those BD-Live features. If you'll recall, experiences with connected extras in Walk Hard were less than smooth, and while this look isn't nearly as in-depth, reviewers did come across noticeable lag in parts. Still, if you're interested in catching a few more glances at what kind of BD-Live fun awaits on this disc, the read link is calling your name.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't this the same exact feature that was nothing but lame when it was on HD-DVD? I'm confused.

Yeah, pretty much.

Yes. And, in fact, 99% of people still don't care about these features.
Worth reporting? Yes.
Worth getting excited about? No, not for most people.
I believe the most common argument is "all I really want is the movie..." Me, I'm still wondering what will happen to all these online features in 5 - 10 years. Somehow, I doubt the movie studios/producers will still want to be hosting extra online content for 10-15 year old movies that they already sold on disk...so BD-Live (or the equivalent for HD DVD) probably won't be designed to add any lasting value to many movies, instead just relying on something trendy or cute or wow-factory to get a few extra sales. Either that, or it'll eventually turn into another money-making scheme, where the online extras on your movie disk just lead you to a store where you can *buy* lame movie-related products like ringtones.

I messed with it a bit. It's kind of pointless but interesting. It's pretty stupid that the trailers that you download dont show up with the rest of your video. You have to put the disk back in to view them. Pretty silly.

Hopefully Netblender's "BD Touch" iPhone interface will revolutionizes Blu-ray interactivity.... unlike the lame crap were getting right now.

Did it have to be "The 6th Day"!? What a crappy movie!

Hey that clone dude was pretty messed up at the end of the movie. That was cool. I like Arnold better as a robot or killing giant aliens but i wont say this movie was "total crap". It was just above average for me.
