History (it recently dropped such innocuous terms
like The and Channel to describe a lineup of
Ax Men and
Crime 360) has linked up with Korea Telecom to distribute its network via video on demand. Parent A&E Television is completely committed to HD production for its shows, and plans to continue expanding the channel -- already on the air in the U.K., Scandinavia and Central Europe -- to Asia and Latin America over the next year. Expect more syndication-friendly content on the way, as A&E sees a big future for HD & VOD distribution.

Be nice if FIRST off HistoryHD would STOP broadcasting everything in stretch-o-vision! I won't watch it because of this. Hey History, if you're reading, just upconvert your standard def content but LEAVE IT in its original aspect ratio. People who want to stretch it can do so as they see fit (cable boxes and hdtv's all have user-selectable stretch and zoom modes which you preclude us from using), but you're forcing us all to watch really wide people for no good reason. You're not fooling anyone that your channel is really "HD" yet.

Huh, you know its kind of funny. I recall not too long ago people during the hd-dvd vs blu-ray format war, discounting iptv stating how there was not enough bandwidth, wouldn't be for at least 10 years, not ready yet...etc....
Though lately, it seems there are lots of 'hd channels headed to iptv' stories and hd vod channels.
