Hannah Montana makes a 3D first on Blu-ray
Concerned you might not be able to experience the Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour properly in your home theater? Worry no more, the biggest 3D movie ever is making a HD first, when it hits Blu-ray August 19 it will include 2D and 3D viewing options. If 1080p 3D video isn't enough, the live concert flick also features uncompressed 7.1 PCM audio, a tour documentary and two bonus tracks. No word if it will come with requisite glasses or anything else necessary to get that extra D With a movie that did unprecedented numbers at the box office, this is sure to be one of the year's biggest releases and with never-before-seen options, might be a good reason to share the home theater with your favorite 'tween.

I'll be interested to hear how they manage to do the 3D effect in the home.

just put 4 pairs of 3d glasses in the box, its not that hard

I'm pretty sure that he was hoping that red/blue anaglyph was NOT the expected method because a lot of people have problems seeing 3D with that and not getting headaches afterwards. Fortunately, I don't have a problem with red/blue 3D effects, but I'd much rather see IMAX LCD-style 3D.

my nightmare on elm street dvd box set came with 2 pairs for that one lame ending ...
DeadPixel @ Apr 5th 2008 6:07PM

OMG HANNAH MONTANA IS THE BEST!
Seriously, if you were really a man, you wouldn't even ask that question lol. I doubt she is really any good, it is probably all Britney Spears equalizered.
Striker @ Apr 5th 2008 9:05PM
GRRR reply doesn't work anymore! That was supposed to be to DeadPixel.

I can't wait for her to do a "Achy Breaky Heart" duet with her dad on video like Natalie Cole did with her father.

That may very well be the scariest thought ever.

Who?
ArchCaptain @ Apr 6th 2008 7:38AM
I would guess it would use the polized glasses like they used in the theater (that is what beowulf used). Actually why didn't beowulf ship with the 3d opition on it?
ArchCaptain @ Apr 6th 2008 7:38AM
They will likely use the polized glass like they gave you to see the movie beowulf at the theater. I would also like to know why didn't they ship beowulf with the 3d option?

STRIKER, my daughters could have written your post, "OMG. . . "
The 3D at our local theater was top-notch quality, much better than any IMAX I've seen. The glasses did not dim the picture. Colors stayed true.
Arch, can polized glasses work in a home theater? I thought that required special projectors.
JET @ Apr 7th 2008 1:48PM
Yep, polarized theatrical 3D displays at 134fps.
I'm really intrigued to hear how Disney is going to get this in 3D for the home. I'm hoping against Anaglyph (red/blue), but anything else would be new tech. Here's hoping for new tech!
