I think it's sad that DiVX has managed to takeover a standard (MPEG-4 Part 2 ASP) so much that companies actually seek to have their products DiVX certified. And if certification on my PS3 is anything to go by, it seems that movies are required to show a DiVX logo for a few seconds when they start.
If they have to get certified, I'd much prefer they got XVid certified. XVid appears to support be a superset of ASP profiles that DiVX does meaning better movie compatibility anyway.
