Along with gigantic patches of FiOS
availability, New England is also basking in the glory of having Comcast TiVo
all to itself. Thankfully, all that
could be changing. According to a report from a Comcast user in the Portland, Oregon area, two different installers informed him that Comcast TiVo would be making its way into the area in the not-too-distant future (read: summertime). Of course, we kinda sorta knew the technology would
eventually spread from the Northeast, but we're eager to see if in fact it'll hit up any more states on its (hopeful) trip west.
[Thanks, Justin]

Come on Comcast. How hard is it really to get this out to more areas. It seems kind of counter-productive to just roll it out to a very, very small part of the country at a time, unless they're trying to wait out the SA boxes lifespan to move people over to Moto boxes that'll work with it.

It only runs on MOTO boxes? That's a shame, since I'm stuck with SA boxes and no indication that my local Comcast will EVER offer MOTO boxes. Too bad too, Comcast's SARA is just SOOOOO terrible.

The service is garbage anyway.. It's not TiVO, it's still a moto or sara box. Slow menus and a monthly fee FTL.

Standalone TiVo has a much higher monthly fee. I'm on Cox, and I'm just hoping to get the software for the suggestions and search by keyword. Those alone would be more than worth a couple bucks a month for me.

As he was installing my cablecards my ComCast installer made two comments
1) The Comcast Tivo thing sucks
2) oh, TIVOHD is now only 250 or less? I'll have to pick one up

I live in Portland and would rather have SciFi HD than this... especially before BSG starts back up.
