Bee Movie HD DVD slips through cracks, goes for $400
We'll be honest, we can't exactly recall what the going rate on rare Betamax tapes was soon after VHS took over, but it seems that one HD DVD fanatic was willing to shell out quite a bundle in order to take home a presumably canceled version of Bee Movie. In a war that saw some 23 bids fly in, one particularly fortunate eBay seller was able to move a copy of Seinfeld's latest on the now-deceased format for $400 -- we think. Curiously enough, the seller didn't specifically mention that it was the HD version in a publicly answered question, and even more suspicious was the fact that he / she chose to end the auction early despite the chance of it soaring even higher. Here's to hoping the winning bidder both reads this and gets the film they purchased, but let's see some actual pictures as soon as it arrives, cool?[Thanks, Mack S.]

I bid on it. Not $400.00 but $70.00. Why? Just to have something rare.

Auction for rare copy of Bee Movie, on DVD HD!*
*It's a DVD, not HD DVD, but it'll be as good or better than HD quality when played on a mythical future Toshiba super dandy hyper awesome defies-the-laws-of-physics vaporware 960p DVD upscaler!
Truth Teller @ Mar 13th 2008 8:02PM
Yeah, multiple frame scanning is just so "mythical" and "defies-the-laws-of-physics" and is "vaporware".
You ought to let every forensic lab in just about every Police force the world over in on that nugget of genius-thought.
Tell me, do you have to practise daily to be such a dumb & shallow-minded moron or is it just a natural 'gift'?

$400 for a movie?!?
LMAO! and the HD-DVD lot were moaning, bitching, and groaning about how expensive Blu-ray is! *gasp*
Yet some fan/idiot can find the money for ONE MOVIE! L-O-L!...and a shit movie at that!
clads01 @ Mar 13th 2008 12:24PM
This has absolutely nothing to do with how much people (including HD DVD player owners) are willing to pay for movies. This has everything to do with how much people are willing to pay to own rare items.
If someone buys a rare misprinted stamp for $500,000, would you conclude that people who might think postage rates are too high are "idiots"?

I will sell you one of my shoes for $70. it is rare; no one else has one of my shoes.
CapNJunkie @ Mar 14th 2008 10:23AM
Well that's no good. Shoes come in sets (usually) and everyone knows that owning the complete set is worth way more than an incomplete collection.
So... you'll sell me your $70 shoe and then create a huge demand for the only remaining item from the set. Forcing me to pay some exorbitant amount to complete my collection... oh no you don't... I'm on to you...

The same freaking thing happened when Blades of Glory was canceled and a few dripped out. The same happened when Commando was pulled last year.

You couldn't pay me $400 to watch that steaming pile of a movie.
With NBS and the stupid Jerry Seinfeld whoring that movie out non-stop on every commercial break for a month or so, I will never watch that movie.

@ Trush Teller:
Looks like somebody woke up with a grudge...
Just how many HD-DED disks do you own buddy?
